Maxwell Garces and Sergio Gaetani are talented orange country-based musicians known for their unique acoustic sound as a live jazz band in
Garces, an acoustic guitarist from Orange County, California, is celebrated for his intricate fingerstyle compositions that mix blues, jazz, and folk. Formerly the lead guitarist of the 90's band Disposable Assassins, he has performed at iconic venues and collaborated with notable musicians in the Gypsy Jazz scene. Now, he enjoys composing and recording music that spans various genres, including classic rock and surf rock.
Sergio Gaetani, originally from Detroit, is a seasoned session player and has performed with groups opening for artists like Robin Thicke, Emerson Drive, and Motown legends Mary Wells and The Four Tops. He is also an avid jazz lover and has performed with everything from big-bands, to french gypsy, brazilian/latin, modern, and classic jazz crooner style vocalists. Now focused on his career as a singer-songwriter, he blends psych-country, indie rock, and Americana, creating captivating stories.
Together, Gaetani and Garces create a rich sound that of French and world jazz with a SoCal edge for every event.

What areas do you serve?
Our world jazz and pop guitar duo travels throughout south Orange County, California. Including: Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Dana Point, San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Niguel, Coto de Caza, Ladera Ranch, Mission Viejo, San Clemente, and Laguna Niguel.
Are you local musicians?
Yes, We are local musicians and active members in the South Orange County community where we live; and not some national corporate booking agency in disguise. The people you talk to and see in the demos are the musicians who will show up and perform at your event.
What type of events do you typically perform at?
We’ll gladly perform at almost any event. We find that parties which really call for a unique atmosphere (without overpowering) and not just background music is where we shine. Wedding rehearsal dinners, cocktail parties, exhibit & art gallery events, milestone birthday parties, holiday parties, and corporate events are normal for us.
Do you work with event & wedding planners?
Yes! we love working with event and wedding planners. We’ll work with you (or your planner) to make sure your client’s event is memorable and professionally executed.
What are your rates?
As much as we hate to give a non-answer, things like travel time, day/time of the week, length of the performance, P.A and power requirements; adding bass, drums or additional musicians all factor in. But we’d love to perform for you and you’ll find our prices are very reasonable especially when considering we can perform both authentic sounding French and world jazz, then transition to Americana & classic rock sing alongs.
Why should I hire Garces & Gaetani vs another band?
Vibe. While there are so many great musicians in Southern California that will do a wonderful job for your event, we are one of the few groups that will play authentic sounding french, world, & bossa nova/latin jazz, then transition to Americana and classic rock while keeping a small footprint at your event.
How much space do you need to setup/perform?
Space is almost always a factor at any event. The Garces & Gaetani guitar duo takes limited space and generates a big sound, creating a unique experience that’s different than most groups.
